There really are some real jerks on this forum. I am NOT asking any of you for permission to relocate. You dont like it? TUFF S**T !!! All these angry people who are clearly unhappy only wanting to rain on others parades. If you dont have any nice to say, DONT SAY ANYTHING AT ALL !! And for the ones that cant read, NO, I have not physically been in the Philippines, but neither did you at one point also. So Please, leave my post alone with all of your immature nasty digs. Now lets see if you can read and understand that

I have a feeling you are not going to fit in here, and yet, you persist in telling the members what assholes they are.  Truth is, this is who we are, and as you so succinctly put it.

I will give you a choice, you can apologize to the members as they are trying to help even if they did not perhaps read or missed part of your posts. Calling members jerks shows me you need to stay in the states. Anyway, the choice is to apologize and move on or I will remove you. Waiting for a nice reply.

I read and reread his 1st post a few times to make sure I didn't miss it but it never said if actually has been here.  I was just trying to confirm that so we can give him proper advice.  Moving to a country you have never been to is not something to take lightly, ESPECIALLY here.  This is NOT an easy place to live if little things bother you and it does seem like he gets easily annoyed.  I assume we have an ignore button here somewhere.

If @RockinFraycontinues to insult members here you will not need the ignore button, he will be kicked to the curb.  We do not put up with that kind of behaviour on this forum.

To socially function successfully in the PI, both its citizens as well as ex-pats, adhere to one of its core values,... the SIR ethic.  Smooth Interpersonal Relationships are one of the Philippines cultural and social hallmarks. That is one of the main reasons why people not raised in this culture enjoy  living here.

Rather than disappoint, offend or cause 'hurt feelings' in other people, many will tell you things that may be ambiguous, untruthful or evasive. This is frowned upon by most Westerners, often causes problems, and can be quite frustrating at times. But it is often the price one has to pay to exist here in harmony.

Aggressive words and actions are often interpreted as immature, childish and poorly mannered  behaviors. Arguments distress all those around you as well. They happen, of course, but are to be avoided because they will cause loss of face, often times.

Intelligent and long time ex-pats and forum members here, are well aware of this, and do their best to keep their emotions in check and stay cool, overriding the impulses that seem normal in their home countries, where they are freely vented at cost. But the cost of doing so here, is much, much higher and will not be shrugged off  by others as being 'normal' or 'understandable'.  Those who cannot adapt and adjust to that, do not find happiness nor a  peaceful existence while living in the PI.  IMHO 

Politeness works here much more effectively than anger when it comes to achieving your goals. Releasing your anger, might well feel good and self-justified in many situations, but believe me... it is seldom effective here. and will often bite you in the ass, later.

The renowned novelist, Kurt Vonnegut, wrote 'God Bless you, Mr. Rosewater' (1965), in which the hero and title namesake had for his personal motto : BE KIND     

I found that to be extremely and particularly useful while living in the PI. , a country where that sage advice is still taken to heart and practiced.
