I walk across that crossing every day and its always a mixed bag.. sometimes cars and bikes stop but mostly its selfish inconsiderate bastards who have no idea what a pedestrian crossing is. The more they beep ( whem Im on a crossing ) the much slower I seem to go. I also find an arm raised and very confident stride tends to stop most adventurous cars, who think they can get across before me. Bikes are another matter. Same problem here, they almost never stop, hand up helps. I love to stop for each and every pedestrian when driving, gives me great joy to hear the horns blaring behind me. 1

Valid point, but In my defense, I did think it was commendable that my local neighbor let me have the goat after I gave him the 500 peso. 1

Popular Post Freebie Posted March 30, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 30, 2023 So I'm not always a fan of SM malls or their supermarkets. However today it was VERY good. After shopping I went to my usual Senior Line ( cashier is very cute and line is usually shortest and I am mid 60s ) All my groceries were bagged and all I had to do was pay. Paid and cashier gave me an old P20 note. I got out my wallet , put it on counter ready to put the P20 in it when I asked if she had a P20 coin instead. She gave me the coin, put it in my pocket and I walked away She then started to process the next customer. I walked home which is only 500m away. Got to elevator to get key card... no key card ! Even worse no F---ing wallet. Walked at a very brisk pace back to supermarket and the cute cashier sees me and gives me a big smile and says " Sir did you forget something" knowing full well I had. She called over the female security guard who was holding my wallet. Asked me to identify myself , I told her what in the wallet. She concurred it was mine. Signed for the wallet, and walked back to the cashier. Least I could do was provide her with a P200 note as thanks.... she said I cant accept, I left the note near her. She says No Sir, as Im walking away I see she has called the female guard so I suggest they split it....either way I was happy that the wallet was safe and not tampered with. Would have been a different story with those magnanakaw in the airport security checks. 5
JJReyes Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Wheelchair attendants at NAIA are forbidden from accepting tips from seniors, persons with disability, and pregnant women. I fold a P200 note several times and try to palm them the money when shaking their hands. Twice I have been refused. The attendants claim the concessionaire for this service pays them a good salary. I believe the airlines are charged whenever this service is provided.
Forum Support Popular Post Tommy T. Posted March 31, 2023 Forum Support Popular Post Posted March 31, 2023 (edited) The packers are very good at the nearby new NCCC store. I always ask for them to run my groceries to the car and load them in. They always seem to load as much as possible into the boxes/bags and they really are heavy. I just am a bit lazy and don't like dealing with that in the extreme heat of the day. The boys are cheerful and helpful and I always slip them a tightly folded 20 discreetly. It is always appreciated and I hope they remember me next time! I did many jobs when younger as a labourer. Most work did not involve customers directly so no tipping. When driving a taxi, most riders did not tip. But a few did and I always remembered them and gave them extra service every time. RBM Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Think this worth a mention. Our go to wine shop has no more stocks of our preferred wines, they are not interested in following up also. My partner was able to order on Shoppe, this worried me a little as coming from Manila, they agreed to COD so all good. In less than a week the wine arrived here in Bacolod, talk about a wonderful over kill, every bottle was wrapped in bubble wrap, packed individually in a carton which was wrapped in bubble wrap. The whole box was wrapped in about 5 layers of bubble wrap....Probably able to drive a car over it without breakage, wonderful job that i gave top marks to upon reviews....
