Popular Post i am bob Posted December 23, 2012 Author Popular Post Posted December 23, 2012 While I don't know who wrote the post referred to above about only the negative things or happenings here in the Phils being posted we need to be VERY CAREFUL with just posting the positive things here also .... we don't want people to think that this is utopia and everything is always rosy .... on some other boards negative posts are deleted and only good things are allowed to be posted ..... this is wrong .... living in the Phils is just like living anywhere else on the planet there are bad and good things about living here as many have discovered AFTER moving here .... I totally agree with you Mike! There is good and bad no matter where we go. And we do need to know about both! And for a forum to delete negative posts is just dumb! Before I joined here last Christmas, I saw one that I'm sure deletes their positive posts... C'est la vie. We are approaching that time of year where we wish one another a Joyeux Noel and we contemplate all the good things we have enjoyed with the approach of the New Year. I think it's a good time to have one here of just the good things. Sure enough we will have lots of the other throughout the rest of the year. One thing about your posts, Mike? You almost always have something good to counter the bad in your posts. We learn what you are trying to teach us and, at the same time, know that you have always have a great outlook on living in the Philippines!
Popular Post brock Posted December 23, 2012 Popular Post Posted December 23, 2012 As Mike said Negative as well as positive things should be posted, Just because someone doesnt like to hear anything Negative about the Philippines doesnt make it right just to post the positive. As for me, the Negatives far outweigh the Positives and I will be seriously thinking about my future living here.

Popular Post OnMyWay Posted December 23, 2012 Popular Post Posted December 23, 2012 I don't think Bob was insinuating that we should not post negatives, but just that this thread is all about positives. Nothing wrong with that and it is Christmas time, so why not an all positive thread? :christmas_emoticons_187: I'm in Subic Freeport Zone right now and I have to re-iterate what others have said: the people! Most of the people we met have been really helpful and nice. Yesterday we went to look at the Kalayaan housing area by jumping on a local jeep type transport within the Freeport. By the time we got up there the people on the jeep had told us about several rentals and we ended up looking at 3. And they were not doing to get a commission or anything like that. They we just being nice. We had to wait for one owner to drive up and show us the place, and the neighbors brought out chairs for us and let us use the CR and gave us water! We sat in the shade chatting with them and it was very pleasant indeed! As you might have noticed, I do like the Subic area. I will have another post on it.

In my opinion, the American Dream does not necessarily mean living in the States anymore. Residing elsewhere is doable, as long as you have some sort of dollar account that can support you and your family long term. Good on ya, mate -- Jake Edited December 23, 2012 by Jake
