I have been asked before why my exit flight was longer than 30 days and both times they asked they looked 'unsatisified' with my answer but let me through anyway. Honestly I've always thought it was a bit odd that it wasn't required to be within 30 days.
Snowy79 Posted February 5, 2022 Author Posted February 5, 2022 It gets better. The American Embassy upped the Philipoines to level 4 don't travel which will invalidate many peoples insurance.

Covid insurance and an exit flight within the 30 day free visa period. I'm still awaiting a reply from the main immigration. No doubt they will release a statement towards the end of February. Just to chuck a spanner in the works, What happens to 9 A and Balikbayan visa's, I surmise a clear up will be in order to sort this out.

I asked the BI years ago about that and they confirmed it can be dated at any time in the future as they are aware it can be extended.Somewhere a screenshot of their reply was posted and I suggested for those enteringing to carry a copy more so for airlines.

Yes many complaints followed by the same questions that others have answered or pointed people to for solutions. Many ask the BI for an answer to a question when the BI never answers posts on FB. Never ending.

I'm just going to sit back and wait until I have to book the tickets before I get excited again, every ten bloody minutes something changes and when you get all the info on that change, it's no longer applicable, changed again. 1

The American Embassy upped the Philipoines to level 4 don't travel which will invalidate many peoples insurance. I checked (and called) and my regular Blue Cross health insurance has no provision for invalidating any part of my insurance based on US Embassy "levels". As always, I am covered outside the US, but must file separately and likely pay first myself, and would be reimbursed. I've done that before, it works. With that said... the Philippines is asking for "travel health insurance", and yes, if one has that type of insurance... it very well may be invalidated depending on the policy. And this where the whole requirement for "travel health insurance" (their language) makes things confusing. I highly doubt anyone checking upon my arrival to the Philippines will look at my regular Blue Cross health insurance policy and determine that I am "covered". I'd expect they would want a stand alone "travel health insurance plan".... which may or may not cover me under Level 4... let alone any other caveats So what, now what?? Hey I have no problem with the Philippines setting whatever requirements they want... their country... I respect that. But I don't see me jumping on a plane for a couple thousand dollars only to find out when I land that I am at the whim of someone interpreting whether my insurance policies are acceptable. I need to have a way to get that all straight and approved... BEFORE I buy a ticket and get on a plane. 5
