Yes. A grey area. Why would a 50 year old man want to hook up with an 18 yr old girl? I will tell you why. It felt right back in 2002 and it still feels right. That's why we are still together. Her 6 yr old sister moved in with us and we were alone together numerous times. I think that us foreigners get too paranoid about being accused of something because of the headlines about pedos being caught. The sister is now 20 and finally got off her ass and got a job!

I'm not saying that scammers won't try to trap you with false accusations. Just saying that I don't think we have to walk on eggshells all the time.

Guys, there is no rocket science involved here.

18 years (and not mentally impaired) in the Phils is an ADULT... as in the US, the UK and the majority of other countries.

Yes, I can understand a 29 year-old guy muttering under his breath about us old fogies and our young partners.... but, that's life son. Get used to it.  We were all 29 once.

Just my opinion,.  Aside from checking her ID, I would make a copy.  If it is a scam, the first thing that disappears is the ID followed by the claim the girl is underage.  Having a copy of her ID might help mitigate the extortion attempt before the authorities.
