The latest in the UK is that a third person caught the virus in Singapore,  the Gov is now recommending people flying in from Asian countries in the last  14 days to stay at home if they feel sick and contact the NHS

Patients are being transferred to specialist hospitals

The statement from China regarding an anti virus drug , confirms my theory that the Chinese want to make money out of this

There are a lot of conspiracy theorys flying around at the moment , I have not seen many people being advertised as cureď or recovered from this virus

The Spanish flu in 1918 to 1920 killed people from all age groups

Theres a lot of information being supressed by governments right now

And to top it off ASF has hit mindanao , guess my pig farm was a bad idea :shock_40_anim_gif:

This is going to hurt the Asian economies,  tourism has taken a nose dive,  Thailand is laying off its employees because the Chinese are no longer travelling

As you are all pointing out, something smells 'fishy' and the official explanation is not adding up.  I propose that the official narrative is just a story they are being told to push out to the masses.  And if you really are concerned about how this could play out, that you research some of the 'other' things that have been written so far about this virus.

-likely stolen in 2012 from a Canadian research lab by the Chinese

-likely modified with HIV components in the Chinese lab in Wuhan

-likely that lab is actually for bio weapons research, not just medical research

-likely the virus got out of the lab, rather than organically appeared at the Wuhan market, much like SARS and MERS did

It gets even better when you look at which foundation contributed to the 'study' of the virus, and which foundations will contribute to finding a vaccine.  I would say they should make a movie about this someday, but it already sounds like a movie script!

I've worked at one of these labs in Cambridge,  it's like a sci fi movie , the dangerous viruses such as small pox etc ( and those were the ones that we knew about ) are kept in vaults that a bank would be proud of

I cant vouch for Chinese labs , but the Chinese do not have in place western standards on the whole they appear to have acted quickly by locking down hubei Provence, can you imagine trying to lock down a city or Provence in the west ?

If still sick how many of them will end up in the total death column?

Reminds me of something in yesterday's news.  The third case of Corona virus in PH is a woman who already returned to China.  She was sick while here, had already tested negative, and was allowed to return.  Then some further test results came in that she was positive apparently.  WTF, I don't know how we can make sense of any numbers yet.  At least so far, we don't have a case of person-to-person transmission in PH.  Fingers crossed.....

BJ, I heard a chilling prediction on a financial report this morning.  Take it with a grain of salt, because as you say, there is so much guessing and misinformation flying around right now it is hard to make sense of anything.  But the prediction was that the outbreak is going to hit the Chinese economy hard, and their factory production will tank, leaving all their export markets in short supply.  Countries hit hardest will therefore be those who are the most dependent on Chinese goods, such as Philippines.

Filter masks are the first things that have disappeared.  Just read a story this morning from Dali city China that they had seized a mask shipment being shipped to Chongking.  The factories I deal with in my business have delayed returning from their CNY holiday to Feb 10, so lets see if they stick to that schedule.  Now if you know anything about China, you know that CNY is a time of year when some percentage of workers never return from their home villages anyway.  Because they come to the cities to work, end up feeling homesick, and just decide that CNY holiday is a good time to quit work.  This is an annual problem with any production in china, so how amplified will it be this year?  Schools in China are supposedly not returning until the end of Feb.

Now I am really really wishing our land purchase had gone thru, and that we had already started the wife's immigration paperwork.

RBM... I read about it at the MSNBC Philippine online news website yesterday. The health officials quarantined an area of Davao Occidental.

Here's the link to that news today:
